The manual refers to overseas sources where useful, but in presenting the New Zealand experience the manual has a local flavour. The text is intended to give practical guidance to growers or potential growers. This is underpinned by a description of the species designed to give an understanding of its growth and behaviour.
Ian has been a Forest Research specialist in species identification and evaluation since 1975. A strong interest in blackwood led him to become a foundation member of AMIGO and advance research on this species. Ian is also a member of the Australian Blackwood Industry group.
