By Bulman, Gadgil, Kershaw & Ray. (2004)
Forest Research Bulletin

This handbook, an updated version, aims to provide a source of reference and an introduction to the routine forestry practice of treating exotic pines against Dothistroma needle blight. The information provided has been gained from over 30 years of research and experience in operational control of Dothistroma needle blight. Dothistroma pini [Mycosphaerella pini] is a fungus that causes a needle cast of conifers. In the exotic forests, the most important tree species which are significantly affected are Pinus radiata, P. nigra subsp. laricio and P. ponderosa.
